Fitness vs weight training

The truth

People often say have you been working out? well the term working out has many variations and I want to define some of these to help people understand what Body Taskforce is about. Today I want to define the difference between keeping fit and weight training.

Weight training

Weight training is a subset of keeping fit. Weight training is the lifting of weights to increase both your physical strength and muscle mass. There are different forms of weight training but they all come under the same category. These include:

  • Bulking/building - heavy weights, less repetition
  • Toning - lighter weighs, more repetition
  • Positive repetition
  • Negative repetition

People who weight train often concentrate of primary bodyparts, you will find men in the weight pit doing arms, chest, shoulders and back round in rotation. Legs and core are not trained so often and the cardio machines are dodged like dog muck on the pavement floor.

Food wise protein is king as carbs are not so required due to the lack of cardio.

Fitness

Body Taskforce is a 90 day fitness programme. We will not have you in the weight pit bench pressing 80kg each week, neither will we have you on a pure protein based diet.

Food

The defined difference here is our Flame programme is based on fitness. You will learn how to prepare and eat six meals a day, each of which include a balance of protein, carbs and vitamins/nutrients. Your diet will be a primary part of the programme, you will be:

  • Detoxing
  • Toning
  • Eating a balanced diet
  • Eating regularly to increase metabolism

Exercise

You will be exercising daily, exercises concentrate on core, cardio and toning not lifting heavy weights. Each week a new challenge will arrive to keep you engaged and drive your fitness to the next level.
